Injuries

Combat is brutal and dangerous, and sometimes grievous wounds are sustained that cannot be healed through magic alone. When a player drops to 0 hp or below in a combat or is dealt a “mortal blow” they must roll on the injury table. Each injury has an initial effect and a worsened effect while bloodied. Injuries can only be fully healed by an extended rest and the attention of someone trained in heal (requires a skill check).

Injuries

1-25% Arm / Hand Injury

Effect: Target takes a -2 penalty to all attack rolls and athletics checks and loses 1 healing surge until you take an extended rest.
Bloodied: While bloodied the target is weakened.

26-50% Leg / Foot Injury

Effect: The target’s speed is reduced by 2 and loses 1 healing surges that cannot be regained until you take an extended rest.
Bloodied: While bloodied the target is slowed.

51-75% Head Injury

Effect: The target loses 1 healing surge and suffers a -5 penalty to passive Perception and perception checks.
Bloodied: Each time the target becomes bloodied it is dazed (save ends).

76-100% Body Injury

Effect: The target loses 2 healing surges.
Bloodied: Each time the target becomes bloodied it takes ongoing [5 heroic / 10 paragon / 15 epic] damage (save ends).
